An average number of 7200 disabled and chronically ill students study at the universities and colleges of Bochum. This group of students has to overcome various obstacles during the course
of their studies.
Not every field of study compensates for possible disadvantages of disabled individuals - there are no specific arrangements made e. g. in the respective study and exam regulations or regarding
the accessibility of rooms. Therefore, in order to graduate successfully, disabled students often have to develop a detailed study schedule that includes aspects which have nothing in common with
general study requirements.
