Dear students,
You will no doubt be familiar with the activities and services of the Academic Support Group (AKAFÖ) on campus. It will come as no surprise that most of our customers get to know our range of services in the numerous cafeterias and canteens.
As a student group, the Academic Support Group represents a service provider with a social mandate. The student groups are organised under the Umbrella Organisation of German Student Groups (DSW) and provide a range of services for higher education institutes throughout the Federal Republic of Germany. The Academic Support Group is responsible for students at the institutes of higher education in Bochum and the University of Applied Sciences in Gelsenkirchen as well as their branches in Recklinghausen and Bocholt.
Our services extend across the main areas of catering, accommodation, financing, culture,
international students, childcare, support for handicapped students and service. What this
actually means for you: we offer a solution for all issues, from BAföG advice through to
leisure and entertainment activities.
You concentrate on your studies, and we'll look after the rest.
